How do we make our cartoons?

Do you want to know how we make our personalized cartoons?

We are going to tell you how we work so that our drawings and caricatures are something truly special, original and exclusive, for each client.

If you want to make a great gift, it is very important to know this:

The first thing is that NO we use AI (Artificial Intelligence to make any of our drawings.

Poster: Say NO, to the generation of images through Artificial Intelligence

The second: It's just that we don't trace photographs and pass them off as a caricature.

This is how the photographs are traced, and then call them ‘caricature’ or ‘realistic caricature’

How to Trace an Image in Photoshop
This is how the photos they call "realistic caricatures" or "realistic caricatures" are stamped and that they are not.

But actually you are paying, for a picture to be taken of you.

To make our cartoons, we have our own rules, which are the basis of our work philosophy, our principles.

That simply, for us are mandatory, and that are these:

Text of how we create our personalized caricatures

In this way we draw our personalized caricatures for a unique gift, truly exclusive and that lasts over time

We start talking about the model to be caricatured and if there is any previous idea, or know your tastes your preferences. Once it's all clear, we get going.

For this we begin by drawing sketches that we send to the client, once the idea has been established.

Each cartoon is a unique story, personal and non-transferable, so we dedicate ourselves to tell that moment that was and will be unrepeatable.

As an example, we tell you the brief history of this very special caricature: One of the cartoons we've done for Guillermo

It's been a long time since Guillermo He orders us cartoons to give to his co-workers. He usually comments on his idea, accompanied by a sketch that he himself makes, and sends it to us, and from there we begin to develop the drawing, especially attending to his indications and proposing some things that come to mind.

This is the sketch Guillermo sent us.

How we look and how they see us

This caricature was of a partner who looked a certain way, but the rest looked too thin. As it is a gift between co-workers it contains some "internal" jokes that we will not reveal, but it should be looking at a mirror, with tofu and a potato tortilla, in the image of the mirror it would be very muscular and in the "real" image so thin that it would have fallen skin. In turn the image reflected, should be futuristic, while the other real.

We start with the personalized caricature

As always, making a simple sketch, looking for the exaggeration of the features and determining the skin falls. Actually, exaggerating the skin was the most complicated thing in the sketch, because it had to remain the shape of the body and not look like a mass without shape or sense.

Here is a very important clarification:

We have known our client for a long time and we know that these are internal jokes, which at no time try to offend, denigrate or mock a partner, that's why we agreed to do it.

Sketch for a custom caricature

Both for the image reflected, as the real one, we chose a pose of bodybuilding different from that of the sketch that Guillermo sent us. In the drawing of the reflected image, we already included the musculature according to how we suppose the caricatured would look, and this was the result.

Drawing a custom caricature for a gift

Now we had to add the customization, with the different elements that they had told us. For the reflected part, we made an airplane and a control tower of the "farthest future", but with a retro touch.

Whereas for the "real" part we imagine something, so to speak, more traditional.

Already with all the elements, and establish their location within the space, we begin to paint this drawing to which we should add some dialogues. The part that gave the most work was adjusting the colors of the reflected image, but in the end the result was worth it.

Personal and unique touch: A custom caricature shows that you've put time and effort into choosing a special gift. Being unique and personalized, it shows that you've considered that person's specific tastes and interests.

Memorability: Cartoons capture specific characteristics and details of a person, and become a lasting memory. Whoever receives the cartoon can keep it as a special reminder over time

It is not a common gift: In a world where we often receive conventional gifts, a personalized cartoon stands out as something unusual and original. You can stand out among the other gifts and leave a lasting impression

In short, giving away a personalized caricature offers a unique and memorable way to express appreciation, love or friendship, while providing a fun and personalized experience for the recipient.
