The caricature of a champion that marks history, in the world of tennis.
With an enormous amount of awards behind him, or this titan's amazing, is the number of injuries, which he has overcome and having played this final also injured.
It just doesn't look like it's from this planet. He has won the 14th Grand Slam title that extends his record at the French Open by defeating Casper Ruud in three sets: 6-3 6-3 6-0. With absolute dominance, he won eleven consecutive games in the second and third sets to close a twenty-twoth Grand Slam title, two more than Roger Federer y Novak Djokovic at the top of the list of all-time male tennis players.
Rafael won his first French Open title 17 years ago becoming the oldest individual champion (36 years) at Roland Garros.
“For me personally, it is very difficult to describe the feelings I have”, “It is something I surely never thought I would be here at 36, being competitive again, playing on the most important court of my career one more final, it means a lot to me”
Rafael Nadal
It was a clash between teacher and apprentice on Sunday with Ruud, who has trained at the Rafael Nadal Academy in Mallorca who always admired his teacher. But the 23-year-old was overcome
“I don’t know what may happen in the future, but I will keep fighting to try to move forward”
Nadal
And here I leave you the official website of this great tennis player of whom I will continue to make drawings and caricatures; tribute to famous athletes from all fields and disciplines that have made and make history.
Only a couple of days ago he had done this, and everything predicted his triumph. And I will do even more, perhaps some personalized surrounded by his trophies (which I do not think everyone enters a drawing) but he may try.
If you liked the cartoon, become a follower of the blog, leave your comment, share with friends and you can also suggest which athlete would you like to see in the cartoon?
